Redlynch Village Medical Centre is a MIXED BILLING practice when you consult with one of our General Practitioners. See below a summary of the fees that you will most commonly be charged.

Procedural Fees

Examples:

  • Implanon insertion/removal
  • Skin lesion biopsies

    This is to assist in covering the cost of various items used during the procedure such as disposable surgical equipment, local anaesthetic, sutures and dressings. Pease ask your Doctor or the reception staff who will be able to inform you if your visit will attract a procedure fee.

    Making Payments

    Payment is required on the day of the consultation and can be made by cash, EFTPOS or Credit Card (excluding AMEX and Diners Cards)

    Financial Hardship

    Patients experiencing financial hardship should discuss with their doctor or practitioner at the time of consultation. Fee waiver is at the discretion of the treating practitioner.

    Patients eligible for Bulk-Billing – who hold a current Medicare card.

    The following consultations will be billed privately and may

    not attract a rebate from Medicare, these must be paid for on

    the day before leaving:

  • Workers compensation, MVA and related consultations (are the patient’s responsibility and must be paid by the patient until a letter of approval with a claim number is provided from the insurance company. Once this is received, we will bill directly to the insurance company)
  • Pre-employment medical assessment and related investigations
  • AMSA Medical Assessment
  • Railway Medicals Cat 1 3
  • Oil & Gas Medicals
  • Drivers Licence Medical (private and commercial)
  • Fitness for Duty Assessment
  • Functional Assessments

Allied Health and Specialist Appointments These services may incur a fee. Please check with your practitioner or reception. HiCaps is available for Health Fund Holders.

Failure to Attend Policy

A $40 fee will incur if

  1. You fail to attend an appointment
  2. You do not give us 2 hours’ notice when cancelling/rescheduling an appointment

This fee is to be paid prior to booking any further appointments

Appointments

We cater for urgent, non-urgent, complex, chronic disease management, health checks, immunisations, insurance, occupational medicine, travel medicine and drivers’ medicals and case conference consultations.

Emergencies will always be given priority.

A standard appointment is 15 minutes however if you require more time longer appointments are available. Please advise the receptionist when booking your appointment and they will assist you accordingly.

Late arrivals of more than 10 minutes will be asked to reschedule.

Interpreter Services

For patients experiencing language or disability difficulties a translator can be arranged.

If you require this service, please discuss with our receptionist when making your appointment. Our Doctors and staff the following languages: Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Mandarin and Punjabi.

Recall/Reminder system

You will be automatically enrolled in our Recall/Reminder system to inform you of recurring healthcare issues such as annual check-ups, care planning and immunisations. Please advise the receptionist if you if you do not wish to participate. Patients will be contacted for recalls when clinically indicated and necessary.

Test results, referrals, and scripts

We have a policy that requires you to make an appointment to discuss test results. GP generated recalls for results will be bulk-billed.

Referrals and repeat scripts will be issued during your consultation.

Compliments, suggestions and feedback

We value your feedback so if you have a suggestion or a concern we would like to hear about it and place in the suggestion/comments box in the waiting room. Feedback forms are available from reception.

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of the practice to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to an authorised member of staff.
